Callie’s third litter was by our Bharandi. In this litter was the only black fringed red we had ever bred, so we kept him, Ch Glenoak Dareyeus. He and his brother Rusty (G.Durust) died last year, their sister, Ch Glenoak Davande has just died aged 15.

Calliope too had a litter by Bharandi, 4 bitches! We kept G Farhaan but we had hoped to keep a dog, so Calliope tried again and this time had  7 puppies by Dareyeus, all dogs! Of these,we kept G Hufriya & G Husayn. Habiibi came back and was sadly killed in an accident shortly after we had re-homed him. He had 2 CCs, so we were never able to get a third.

We tried twice to breed Farhaan but to no avail. She lives happily here, as do Friya & Teddy (Husayn).

We decided to mate Davande to Askalam Flyte, belonging to Phyllida Cooke, and bred by Brian Pether. He was the grandson of Lisa’s first saluki, Cleo, and was a well known and very successful coursing dog. There were 3 dogs and 1 bitch, we kept Gushyar. Apart from our current litter, he has sired lovely puppies, including Pauline & Don Everton’s Ishieya Kalis of Kasra and Ishieya Karam, bred by Doreen Stansfield. Doreen took the litter brother and sister with her to Australia. Another son  is Alaziz Benjamin, owned & bred by Jenny Casemore. Ishieya Karam (Tango) was featured recently on the cover of The Mail on Sunday magazine! Tango was Best Dog at the SGHC Open Show. He has 1CC.

What next...

Martha, Sidney & family lived in our car park until the fox killed them while we were at work.

 

Our dogs all live in the house with us (it’s quite big!), and they have several acres to run in. We don’t let them in our private garden as hole digging etc. is not allowed. We now have 10 salukis , aged from 18 months to 13 years and in 2002 we had our first litter for 8 years. We were given Caryna Kleio of Glenoak 10 years ago by Denise Garratt. She is the daughter of Glenoak Hvardi at Caryna, litter brother of Friya and Teddy. Kleio was BIS at the SGHC Limited Show 1999, Judge Brian Duggan, Ref Liz Gibbins. She has a smashing temperament and is a real pleasure to own, as is Gushyar. We had a litter from these two in August 2002. There were 10 puppies, of which we have kept 3! We are really pleased with this litter...
